Hi Parents,
We are seeking players for our EXTRA program for the upcoming season.
EXTRA is a competitive year-round soccer program designed to provide a more challenging level of play for those players who possess the appropriate interest, skills and abilities and to enhance each player’s experience and individual growth through the game of soccer. Tryouts are in May; Tournaments will be played during the summer; the EXTRA league games start in September. Teams are formed at a Region level.
EXTRA gives athletes whose interests and abilities lead them to a more progressive soccer experience. You can feel secure knowing your child is part of a trusted organization and will be given fair playing time.
The local Region determines the organization of EXTRA play to suit its needs and numbers, but AYSO’s core philosophies are still in place: everyone on the team plays at least 50 percent of each game; selection to teams is based on open and fair evaluations; and the teams are chosen to create a competitive balance.

EXTRA Costs:
The cost to play in the EXTRA Program is the same cost to register for the Spring 2027 and Fall 2026 AYSO Soccer Seasons plus the annual AYSO National player fee (AYSO National determines the annual fee and may change) and a small service charge. In addition to the normal Spring/Fall registration fees, there is an additional $200.00 fee that must be paid by every player before the start of the AYSO Fall 2026 season. The additional $200 will cover the cost of the EXTRA Package that all San Clemente teams/players will receive. The EXTRA package will be the same for all San Clemente teams/players for 2026 Extra Season.

Note: There are No scholarships available for this program except for Active Military personnel in which their Spring/Fall season fees will be reduced, but not the remaining portions of the program.
