AYSO Region 111

Fall 2023 Game Schedule

Info Between the Regional Game Schedule and Area Game Schedule:
Depending on the number of teams in a division that are assembled within San Clemente for the Spring Season will determine if that age division will play in a Regional Game Circuit or Area Game Circuit and that will determine where the home and away games will be at.

  • What is the Regional Game Circuit:
    1. If we play Regional, all Home and Away games will be played in the City of San Clemente
    2. We will not travel outside of San Clemente to play our normal gaming circuit.
  • What is the Area Game the Area Game Circuit:
    1. All Home games will be in San Clemente
    2. All Away games will be at one of the local cities: Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, Laguna Beach, San Juan Capistrano, Rancho Santa Margarita, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, Ladera Ranch, Rancho Mission Viejo
    3. Format of play for Area:

The program is run by AYSO Area 11L and they determine the format of play. Typically, teams are submitted to area with initial “best guess” seeding or tier placement. There are usually 3 to 4 seeding levels per division. Seeding level 1 is the highest level of play and seeding level 2 would be the next level of play and so forth. The first half of the season is known as the seeding round. Usually, teams will play a certain number of games during the seeding round. After the seeding around, the teams are “re-seeded” by Area staff to create a balance level of play for the medal round or the second half the season. Therefore, depending how all the teams do during the seeding round. Area may do 1 of three things for each team. A team may move up to a higher level of play or keep the team in the same level of play or move a team down a level of play. Hopefully, after all the teams are reseeded, we will see a balance of play during the second half of the season or the medal round. This is why you will only see the first half of the schedule. The second half of the schedule will be posted after Area has re-seeded all teams for the medal round.
