AYSO Region 111 - Restart of Play (Updated 08/14/2020)

 AYSO Region 111

Fall 2020 Season

"Restart of Play"

Dear AYSO Parents,

We hope this message finds you well during these challenging and difficult times.

The State, County, City, and AYSO guidelines have allowed our region the opportunity to "Restart Play" in a safe and socially distanced manner with return to fields in the next few weeks.

The Health and Safety of our players is the utmost of importance.  As part of the "Restart of Play" protocols, teams that begin to practice in the near future will do so "socially distanced" (Phase 1) until the State allows for progression into contact in small groups (Phase 2), then on to full team scrimmages (Phase 3), and lastly to regular games (Phase 4).  We'll follow the State, County, and City guidelines as well as timing through each Phase with careful consideration for each player.  Again, Health and Safety are paramount as we begin to bring players back onto the field.

AYSO has played a meaningful role in our community for many years bringing exercise, friendships, competition as well as many other intangibles that are a part of our daily lives and the COVID-19 pandemic has played havoc on those activities.  We are excited to "Restart Play" and work towards a tentative Fall Season start date of October 3, 2020.

In order to play in our Fall Season, you'll need to sign up your child to play.  Please go to https://www.ayso111.org/ to sign up and take advantage of the "Early Discount" of $50 off per player before August 31, 2020.

If your child played in the Spring and you "Rolled Over" their registration fees, please contact our Registrar @ [email protected] to claim your registration code.

In the event that the season is cancelled due to an additional COVID-19 outbreak, a players regional fees will be refunded minus any costs associated with start up of the season such as Uniforms, Field Use, etc... Our plan is to keep costs low in the event that there is another season cancellation, so that our families can receive a maximum refund due to these challenging times.

We are excited to bring our quality, 100% Volunteer Soccer Program back for the Fall Season in a safe and healthy environment.

Please direct any questions or comments you may have to Nick Russell at [email protected]

Best wishes and see you back on the field soon!

REFUND INFO

Hi Region 111 Spring Families,

I hope this email finds you all well in these difficult times.

As much as we want to get all the players back out on the pitch, it looks like we have to cancel the remainder of the spring season. Please keep in mind that the AYSO local regional board is all volunteer and a nonprofit organization. We keep fees low by running a tight budget with our expenditures. Since the spring season had already started the region spent registration fees to pay for uniforms, field and light fees, as well as equipment costs. This averages to ~$70 per player for that portion of the season. We realize times are difficult for some families financially and want to be considerate of our community.  As far as Spring Season fees are concerned, we have the following options for you to choose from:

1.  No refund, take the spring fee and please donate it to the region

2.  Roll over fee to Fall 2020 or Spring 2021 (Preferred Choice)

3.  Refund minus the $70 cost already occurred

4.  Full refund

We need each family to fill out the attached form in order to track and process your options.  Please return your form by 5/31/2020.

Best wishes and we hope to see you back on the field soon!

Dear AYSO Families, Coaches, Referees, and Volunteers –

At this time, under the direction of the AYSO National Office, all AYSO Programs have been suspended, including practices, games and meetings.

The AYSO National Office continues to evaluate information as it becomes available from national and local Public Health offices and will make a determination/recommendation on reengagement per that information. We understand that this has created anxiety in our communities, but please know that the health and well-being of our entire AYSO Family is our top priority.

AYSO continues to recommend that everyone follow the CDC guidelines, which can be found here: https://www.aysovolunteers.org/coronavirus-update-and-prevention-tips/.

Good evening,

We hope this email finds you well. We understand your concern in light of the Coronavirus outbreak and want you to know that AYSO is assessing the situation in its entirety to determine the best-informed course of action for our players, volunteers and families.

This is a dynamic and fluid situation and appreciate your patience and understanding. The safety and well-being of our membership is of the highest priority, so in light of the California Department of Public Health's recommendation that gatherings of 250 or more be postponed or cancelled, AYSO has taking the following actions regarding upcoming events and is providing the following recommendations for your local events.

We have cancelled the Western States Games and the Section 1/10/11 EXPO and are evaluating other AYSO run events as information unfolds.

We recommend that if you have tournaments or large special events scheduled, you consider postponing them to April or May respectively.

We understand that this creates a bit of uncertainty but please let your families know that we are monitoring the situation daily and will have a recommended action plan for your programs in short order.

In regards to the outbreak, we encourage you to follow the preventive measures recommended by the CDC to help stem the spread, which can be found here:
https://www.aysovolunteers.org/coronavirus-update-and-prevention-tips/. We also recommend that you stay in contact with  your local school districts as well as you local and state departments of Public Health. Our goal is to provide all members with timely and relevant information on Coronavirus.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you,

The AYSO Office
