 AYSO Region 111 - 5U Core

The 5U Girls and Boys program was developed to continue player development in a fun yet competitive environment.

Season start and end datesThe season starts on Sept. 7th, 2019 and usually ends the week before Thanksgiving.
Division AgePlayer's Birth Year is 2015
Time CommitmentAll technical sessions and games will be on Saturday for a one hour duration

The first half hour will be the technical session and the second half of the hour will be the game.
Game time periods: Four 5 minute periods. Halftime break of 5 minutes. 

No other changes from play as specified in FIFA Laws of the Game Printed for the American Youth Soccer Organization.Games : TBA  ( As of 6/30/2017., All games will be played on Saturday)
StandingsStandings are not kept for this division. 
Player EquipmentEach player will be given a uniform which consists of a jersey, shorts and socks. Every player will also receive a size 3 soccer ball. The player must provide soccer cleats and shin guards.
 
note: every player must wear shin-guards or they can not participate in any practices or games. Also, socks must be worn over the shin-guards.(NO EARRINGS CAN BE WORN DURING PRACTICE AND GAMES)
Coach Certification Requirements
  1. AYSO Volunteer Form (must be updated annually) 
  2. Safe Haven Certified (one time online class, unless AYSO updates it and mandates that we take the new course)
  3. CDC Concussion Awareness ( must be updated annually)
  4. 6U Coach Certified
Note: The above certifications are needed weather you are the Head Coach or Assistant Coach
 All other Volunteers
  1.  AYSO Volunteer Form (must be updated annually)

The 10U Girls and Boys program was developed to continue player development in a fun yet competitive environment.

As of 6/30/2017, 10U is a combined division of 9U and 10U players. Depending on the number of players that sign up, we may separate the two divisions.

There are two weekday practices for a max of 1 1/2 hours per practice. (May change due to the number of teams.) 
Duration of Game:
Four 12.5-minute periods. Halftime break of 5 -10 minutes.

No other changes from play as specified in FIFA Laws of the Game Printed for the American Youth Soccer Organization.Games : TBA  ( As of 6/30/2017., All games will be played on Saturday and there maybe few Sunday games)
StandingsStandings are kept for Post Season play. Only the first place team in Region 111 will continue on for Area Play. Those games are usually played in early December.

Heading RuleHeading for players in U-14 will be limited to a maximum of thirty (30) minutes per week with no more than 15-20 headers, per player.  There is no restriction on heading in matches in U-13 and above.

Coach Certification Requirements
  1. AYSO Volunteer Form (must be updated annually) 
  2. Safe Haven Certified (one time online class, unless AYSO updates it and mandates that we take the new course)
  3. CDC Concussion Awareness ( must be updated annually)
  4. ADVANCE COACH TRAINING
Note: The above certifications are needed weather you are the Head Coach or Assistant Coach
All other Volunteers
  1. AYSO Volunteer Form (must be updated annually)
  2. Safe Haven Certified (one time online class, unless AYSO updates it and mandates that we take the new course)
  3. CDC Concussion Awareness ( must be updated annually)
Note: This includes Team Parent and any other volunteer activity you may volunteer for.
The Players:
  • Numbers: Eleven per team on the field; one of which is a goalkeeper. 20 maximum on a roster.
  • Substitutions: Open Substitutions
  • Playing Time: TBA
  • Teams: Separate girls and boys teams should be promoted at all levels of play.
LocationPractice Location - Will be either at Vista Hermosa Sports Park Field 5 or Field 6  (click here for google map)
Game Location    -  TBA (Travel will be required. Final game locations will be announced when the game schedule is available.)

Safety
  • No ear rings can be worn during practices and games.
  • No bracelets or wrist bands can be worn during practices and games (Except Medical Bracelets can be worn).
Dog PolicyDogs are not allowed at any sports fields in the City of San Clemente.
