Point System and Referee Incentive Program

Point System (AYSO Post-Season Play)

In order to be eligible to compete in post-season play, each team must accrue at least the same number of points as there are games scheduled for their team. 

• Coaches must notify RRA ideally on Week 1 of season with names of 1 or more Affiliated Referees for their team. Referees must have a relation to a player on the team. 
  (If a Referee that is not related to a player on the team wants to assign their Post-Season Points to a team, they will not be able to use those games toward the Referee Incentive Program)
• There will be several training opportunities for parents and siblings to get certified before and during the season. Affiliates will not need to have current certification to qualify, but they must be signed up for a Referee Training Class.
• Referees affiliated with teams must be recorded as such on the Matchtrak scheduling system. 
• Point tallies will be taken from Matchtrak records only. 

(There are opportunities for referees to earn points by attending any Referee Meetings that will be held during the season. Additional opportunities will be announced as they become available)

Points will NOT be assigned for past games (there is a 1 week grace period to adjust/correct). Teams that aren’t affiliated with a referee will not earn points and will not be eligible for post season play (tournaments). After Week 1, teams will not be able to affiliate with referees for Post-Season Points.  

POST-SEASON POINTS WILL BE EARNED BY REFEREES AFFILIATED WITH TEAMS IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER:
U8 Post-Season Points  (If no Referee has signed up for the U8 Match, the Home Team will be responsible for providing a certified referee. Coaches are not to be on the field refereeing their own match)

• Referee earns 1 point per game 

U10-U14 Post-Season Points

• Center Referees earn 2 points per game (U10-U14)
• Assistant Referees earn 1 point per game (U10-U14)

U16 and ABOVE Post-Season Points

• Center Referees earn 3 points per game (U16+)
• Assistant Referees earn 2 points per game (U16+)

Referee Incentive Program
The following incentive plan is to encourage more referees to sign up for games and to officiate more games during the season. Game counts for each referee are provided by Matchtrak. Gift Cards will be delivered to referees at our monthly Referee Meetings. Only those referees whose names appear in the scheduling system used for the season will be eligible for rewards. Unscheduled “walk-ons” may be eligible for referee points and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Problems such as scheduling system log-in difficulties will also be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

U8 and ABOVE Incentives
Referees can earn Gift Cards that will be distributed as follows… First Gift Card is earned after 10 Games have been completed, after that Gift Cards are earned at 5 Game increments.
