8U Girls and Boys Fall Core Program Info (Non Coed)

The 8U Girls and Boys program was developed to continue player development in a fun yet competitive environment.

Season start and end datesThe season starts on Sept. 9th, 2017 and usually ends the week before Thanksgiving.

Time CommitmentPractices:
There is one weekday practice for a max of 1 hour.
Duration of Game:
Four 10-minute periods. Halftime break of 5 minutes. No other changes from play as specified in FIFA Laws of the Game Printed for the American Youth Soccer Organization.Games : TBA  ( As of 6/30/2017., All games will be played on Saturday)
StandingsStandings are not kept for this division. 
Player EquipmentEach player will be given a uniform which consists of a jersey, shorts and socks. The player must provide soccer cleats, shin guards and a size 3 ball.
note: every player must wear shin-guards or they can not participate in any practices or games. Also, socks must be worn over the shin-guards.
Coach Certification Requirements
  1. AYSO Volunteer Form (must be updated annually) 
  2. Safe Haven Certified
  3. CDC Concussion Awareness ( must be updated annually)
  4. 8U Coach Certified
Note: The above certifications are needed weather you are the Head Coach or Assistant Coach
 All other Volunteers
  1.  AYSO Volunteer Form (must be updated annually)
  2. Safe Haven Certified (one time online class, unless AYSO updates it and mandates that we take the new course)
note: this includes Team Parent and any other volunteer activity you may volunteer for.
The Players:
  • Numbers: Four per team on field; No goalkeepers. Six maximum on roster.
  • Substitutions: Between periods, at halftime and for injuries.
  • Playing Time: Minimum of three periods per game and no player should play four periods until everyone has played three.
  • Teams: Separate girls and boys teams.

Game Location    - Vista Hermosa Sports Park Field 5  (click here for google map)
AwardsAll players will receive a participation medal.
Heading RuleNo Heading the Soccer Ball at this Division
  • No ear rings can be worn during practices and games.
  • No bracelets or wrist bands can be worn during practices and games (Except Medical Bracelets can be worn).
Dog PolicyDogs are not allowed at any sports fields in the City of San Clemente.

AYSO Region 111 reserves the right to change the core program for this division to provide an optimum experience which is dependent upon the number of coaches who volunteer, players who register and any other related factors.
